I was struck by the relevance of keepi...Good piece. I was struck by the relevance of keeping a date book for so long and the impact that would have later in life. One of the things I have always cherished are the logbooks of my grandfather. In them, he kept notes of his flights which included skirmishes with other fighter pilots in the Korean War and the trials and travails of a naval test pilot. They provided me with enormous motivation. When writing those logs, he was never aware of the impact it would have on another person's life that never existed at the time.
